“Many pet-friendly food establishments with sidewalk patios continue to cater to their canine clientele, such as Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt stores throughout the Valley, where hot pink water bowls are a permanent fixture. The Fido-Friendly Four N 20 Restaurants with locations in Valley Village and Sherman Oaks, have always welcomed dogs, as well as post local ones available for adoption. And aside from the animals, they also do their best to accommodate animal-loving humans with vegetarian breakfast, lunch and dinner offerings.

Then there are the enclosed-patio eateries that are taking full advantage of the new ordinance, such as Zach’s Italian Café in Studio City, which welcomes canines on their large outdoor patio. They also host BYOD (Bring Your Own Dog) fundraisers for rescue groups, from which they donate a percentage of the profits. Zach’s aims to accommodate animal-loving humans as well, with vegan/vegetarian versions of Italian favorites. Giuseppi’s Italian Restaurant in West Hills even has “Dog Day Saturday Afternoons” when well-behaved, leashed pooches can kick back on the patio with free water/treats and lunch specials for their humans.”  Read More
